A VIDEO

“December 10, 2011”. Jim Paredes has been tweeting about the lunar eclipse happening on that date. “The last lunar eclipse of the year”. It sounded pretty cool and I thought might as well make it memorable. After much research, I was able to get the actual time. 7pm-1am, they said.

Celebrate. A rare occasion such as this calls for a celebration. It was going to be a beautiful night. After some thinking, I finally had a plan. Dinner. Roofdeck. Pray that it doesn’t rain.

December 10, after lunch. “Les, game for tonight. But we have to play it by ear. If it rains we’ll just end up having dinner. Pero it’s ok.”. “Ok, i’ll talk to the lobby guard about the roofdeck” replied Les.

December 10, 7pm. Finally woke up. “It’s raining in alabang…” I said. “It isn’t here…” said Les. “I’m on my way!!!!”

9pm. There was an overcast in Makati and it started drizzling. But that didn’t stop us from taking our pizza and wine to the pool area.

10pm. The sky started to clear up! The stars were shining and the moon was full… and was being gobbled by the earth’s shadow (just as we gobbled our pizza). Pretty cool moment. Beautiful sight.

11pm. We got ready for a night out. Brilliant idea. The lunar eclipse was in full effect. People at Fiamma didn’t seem to notice it though. We got our drinks and just hung out outside.

… and so goes the rest of the night.

Music, dancing and a lot of merry-making during the lunar eclipse. Sounds like we celebrate December Solstice after all. Good job.
